What to consider before cleaning solar panels

Dust, salt residue, leaves and bird droppings can settle on rooftop panels. How much soiling affects a system depends on the site and the panels. WETR does not promise a particular output gain from cleaning.

Look at the panels and their surroundings

Note visible deposits, nearby trees and roof access. A photo can help WETR assess the work, but safe access and panel condition may need a closer look.

Choose a suitable cleaning method

WETR uses deionised water for solar glass. The cleaning approach should account for the panels, their condition and manufacturer guidance. High-pressure washing is not a default for panels.

Request a clear scope

Ask for a written quote that identifies the panels to be cleaned and any access constraints. If the roof or gutters also need cleaning, these can be assessed separately.
